Jayde turned one on May 14th which is totally insane!It is amazing how fast time flies after you have a baby....
and it's sad we can't call her our baby anymore though,
because technically she's a toddler now!
How can someone as cute as this...
...grow into someone as adorable as this... all in ONE year?!Jayde - here are some fun facts about you at your one year mark:
When we go on our walks you wave to everyone you see as well as the houses we pass. When it is someone you know you will blow them kisses and give hugs like a pro. You can stand up on your own and will walk while holding one of our hands. You also LOVE to be chased all over the house and then wrestled when we catch you. Whenever you hear music you dance by pumping your hands in the air (your 'raising the roof' move), shaking your head back and forth, and bending your knees.
We've graduated you from the sink baths to the big tub in our bathroom. The first night you didn't really know what to think as you watch your toys float around, but now you LOVE it and will crawl all over the tub and play.
You want to eat all by yourself and decided you do not like baby food anymore. We have been giving you actual meals which is hard to get you to eat your veggies because you are a little picky with what you choose to put in your mouth. You LOVE whole milk and guzzle it from your sippy cup. We still give you a bottle in the morning and at night which we're working on graduating you from. The only problem is you drink soo much more from your bottle than your sippy and I'm worried that you will get dehydrated.
Foods you like: bagel w/cream cheese, pancakes with peanut butter & jelly, pb&j sandwiches, string cheese, yogurt, applesauce (when you get over the fact I have to give it to you with a spoon and you can’t hand-feed it to yourself), sweet potato fries, eggs w/ham & cheese.
Foods we are trying to get you to like: rice, beans, veggies, chicken nuggets, chicken pot pies.
You are getting used to have your teeth brushed with a real toothbrush & baby toothpaste. You help us get you dressed when we say ‘foot’ you stick your foot up in the air so we can put your shorts on, when we say ‘foot’ again you will put your other foot in the air. You also help us put your arms in which has been making dressing you much easier! You can also brush your hair when I ask you, and you’ll also brush mine which is very cute.
You still don't say any words but have done the sign language for milk, baby, and all done a couple times. Some phrases that you completely understand are: Push the button, all done, put it down, give high 5, blow kisses, bath, mama, dada, drink, hugs, say bye bye.
You LOVE books and want us to read tons to you every day. If we’re busy you will read to yourself. It is SO cute watching you sit there with a book, while turning pages and making different noises as you read and try to act out what you’re seeing. Your favorite toys are the bouncy ball, the jelly and tractor flash cards, playing with our book light while you are in the car, our cell phone or any other electronic device, and riding on anything.
