Friends from grade school

My two very good friends (since elementary school) came to visit.
It's coincidence that Kristina & Tia live only 4 hours away from us, and is fun to catch up every now and again.
Their two kids (Zeek and Rainey) are adorable and we had a blast socializing and just hanging out.

The only thing we didn't anticipate was Jayde getting sick and throwing up all over the place the first day (luckily she didn't get their kids sick), and the fact that all three of their sleeping schedules were completely different from each other.

Nonetheless we were able to have lots of fun swimming, at the park, seeing the piggies, and dressing up in costumes.

After a couple days Jayde was feeling much better. Let's just say I was not prepared for a throwing up toddler! The fact she couldn't tell me when it was going to happen was the hardest part. She got better pretty quick though, and hopefully we won't have to deal with that again any time soon.

It was fun dressing them up in their Halloween costumes and they did pretty well sitting there....

Except when this little lady decided that she was done and bolted down the walkway.

Girls Vegas Trip!

Teri, Jessi, and I went on a fun-filled Vegas weekend and had an absolute blast!
It was a great to have a mini vacation for all of us.
I'm not going to lie - it was super hard leaving Jayde,
and I may have shed a couple tears when I said bye to her in our room before we left,
but I knew she was in good hands with her daddy and papa around.

The trip involved tons of shopping, pedicures, laying by the pool, great food, floating down the lazy river, people watching, sights of some CRAZY tattoos, accidental drives to the wrong Costco on the complete OTHER side of town, going to Fry's Electronics to inquire about some blueberry muffins, flyovers from some F-15's that set car alarms off, gelato at Whole Foods, the purchase of my first very pink lipstick, laughs about us getting our hair wet by the crazy water features when we didn't entirely want to, trying to help Jessi with her cute pregnant self in and out of the water tubes, serendipity food, and trying to hold the shuttle so we would make it in town in time!, oh and Teri making a new friend on that very shuttle.

All the while this little lady had a blast with her papa and dada.

It was such a fun-filled weekend for all of us (including Jayde)! I don't even think she realized that I was gone. When I got home Sunday before church she just look at me quizzically and kept eating her breakfast.... which I guess is a good thing.

We might have to make this an annual event - we'll have to just see :0)
