Miss 11 Months

Our little Miss Jayde turned 11 months old on April 14th. I couldn't believe I almost had a one year old, the time just flew by so fast it's unbelievable! She is such a joy in our lives and we love every minute we get with her! Each stage she grows into becomes our favorite and she gets more and more fun with her little personality showing through.

Jayde here are some fun facts about you at 11 months:

You are yelling all the time, and learning how to fluctuate your sounds and pitch. I think you are enjoying realizing that you can make loud noises. You also enjoy copying the sounds we make, like when we blow on something, say uh-oh, and sneeze which is so funny. You still LOVE to sing with your mama so I try to sing a lot. It’s cute to hear you fluctuate your voice.

You have learned how to climb on things and we definitely are being kept on our toes to make sure you aren’t falling off of stuff. You can crawl all the way up the stairs without any help, and are learning how to go down which is much more difficult to teach you because you just want to go up, up, up. When we make you go down you start crying as if we’re trying to hinder you from reaching your goal to the top.

You are starting to not want to be fed, but want to feed yourself, and will fight the spoon the entire time which has thrown us for a loop. It is much more difficult to get you to eat, and you are learning things that you do and do not like. You really have your sippy cup down and it is fun watching you tilt it WAAAY back to get the milk from it.

You can wave to people, give kisses like a pro, and have learned how to give a ‘high 5’. We are working on hugs with you which you are slowly understanding. When you hug, you give me pats on the back. Our favorite is when you crawl right up to us and give us an open-mouthed kiss on the face.

You have 7 teeth that have broken through with 4 on the bottom and 3 on the top. This most recent teething adventure has been much easier than the last one. They came through while we were in California so you had lots of distractions.

You stand up all day, but still haven’t learned how to stand up without support. You really enjoy walking while holding onto our hands, but still crawl because you are super fast. You love chasing us while we are crawling around and enjoy finding us when we hide. You scream with delight when we chase you around.

You enjoy rolling a ball back and forth to us. Sometimes you actually throw it a couple feet which made your dad super proud. He was like, “Did you see that?!”

During bath-time you LOVE to splash because at first I would accidentally react by jumping away. You realized really quickly that I was reacting because of you splashing, so now you do it all the time. While in the bath you love to drink from the faucet. Afterward you love your lotion massage, and are learning how to brush your hair.

We went to a baby blessing of a friend who had a big dog and you weren’t too fond of it… especially when it licked you on the chin which freaked you out.

You try to climb up our pant leg when you want to be held, and if we’re holding you and you want down you will raise both arms high up into the air and scrunch up your face as you try to slide through our arms down to the ground.

You aren’t content with us holding you at stores and want to crawl and inspect things by yourself.

You’ve slowly phased out most of your naps and will take a 1 to 1.5 hour naps twice daily. You go to sleep between 8:15 and 8:30 every night, and wake up between 7 and 8:30 depending on the day.
