So this is the "shot heard 'round Red Sox Nation" and my wonderful wife was kind enough to let us be there!!! The hit was absolutely amazing. No one was ready for it because Manny usually does not swing on the first pitch. This time he not only swung but he cranked it! The second the ball hit the bat the entire stadium erupted.
This picture explains itself!!So now back to the game. We were in the "all you can eat club" seats, so we did our best to get our money worth. Surprisingly, the food was actually pretty good. Our starting pitcher was Lester with Papelbon closing. I sort of felt bad for the Orioles because it seemed like it was a home game for the Red Sox. Or I at least felt bad until the first pitch!!
Not only did we get to see the big home run but we also got to see Ortiz hit his last home run before he got sent to the DL (this was the game he got hurt at). We also were able to see in person how FAST Ellsbury is!
